Rick Benavidez, Precinct Chair #437I’m the neighborhood point-person for the local Democratic Party. My main job is to make sure our corner of the community is organized, informed, and gets out to vote when the time comes.

Think of me as a bridge between our neighborhood and the larger party. I help neighbors get registered, explain who is on the ballot, and make sure people know where and when to cast their vote. I created this website to support those efforts, and to make sure you had a single place to turn to get your questions answered.Because I’m elected to this role by the voters right here in our precinct, I also represent us at the county level. I sit on the executive committee that makes decisions about local party goals and budgets. It’s really about building a local community of neighbors who care about the same issues, so that when election day rolls around, we aren't just guessing. We have a plan and are ready to make our voices heard together. At the end of the day, voting is the most direct way we have to protect our community and the values we share. Right now, it feels like there is a lot on the line, and the best way to defend our democracy is to take collective action and participate in it. By showing up, we’re making sure our neighborhood has a seat at the table and a say in the future. Change starts right here on our block, and every single vote is a brick in the wall that keeps our democratic process strong. You can reach out at [email protected]
